Still Alive

These two could have daddy push them around the house all day long in the car. They just laugh and laugh. So far we have no accidents to report. Madison did attempt to ride her Pooh Bear car down the stairs a couple of weeks ago. The stairs won and she ended up with a little scratch on her nose. She hasn't tried that again and we try to keep the cars downstairs now.

Yes, we are still alive. Thursday the 12th was Braden's 1st birthday. We had tri-tip roast on the grill with baked spuds, jello salad, green salad and mom brought her macaroni salad. The food was great. Grandma Law made a rocking horse cake-- the photo does the cake no justice. Thanks mom for your hard work, it was awesome.

Saturday Daddy went shooting with Jared (friend) to Melba. Jared works at a feedlot and they have a bunch of wooly boogers that need disposing of. It was a blast....literally.

I will try to be more diligent with the blog updates.

Poor Little Man..

Braden had a most undelightful week. He has been throwing up and had diarrhea for several days. By Friday night Amy and I decided if he wasn't better by Sat morning we would take him to the Doctor. Friday night was one of the worst and he didn't eat or drink anything on Friday so we took him to quick care. They sent us directly to the E.R. They gave Braden an I.V. to rehydrate him and they took a blood and urine sample. It's a virus and they say he should kick it in the next couple of days but to just keep him drinking as much as possible. Maddie is experiencing similar symptoms along with diarrhea so it's lots of fun in our house. Grandma and Grandpa Law came to get Maddie at the hospital so we could care for the boy. Poor little guy lost 3 pounds in 3 days. After the tests and the I.V. we were released and Braden is doing a little better. He is eating and drinking again which makes mommy and daddy both happy.

Our Little Miracle

Madison is now a very big girl. No more crawling. She walks everywhere. Here are a couple videos to show how far she has come in just a couple short months. I appologize the quality is not better. I had to convert the files from my cell phone to the pc.

Maddie is also very excited for her new big girl princess bed. She was laughing and saying "yay, yay, yay!" when we put it together. Thanks Aunt Krystal... I love it! Maddie

After being gone for a week hunting everyone in my little family was quite excited to see me home. I gladly shaved my beard. Maddie is doing incredible. This weekend it seemed like she flipped a light switch from crawling to walking. She walks almost everywhere now without the aid of her walker. We are so grateful to loving family and therapists who have all aided Maddie in reaching this milestone. We know it will only get better.

Braden stands up everywhere and his favorite word is "Dad". He has also started waving and clapping when you ask him to. Madison is progressing with her sign language and we were asked by her speech therapist to really focus on learning to speak sign as Maddie will most likely be another couple of years before she speaks very much. To aid her with speech we got her some whistles and straws. The more she uses these the more her muscles will develop to help her with talking. Our little girl amazes us daily with the strides she takes. She is so smart. She really looks big and mommy had lots of fun doing her hair. It is finally long enough that Amy can do something with it.

You Big Cow.....Moose

In preparation for the hunt Dad and Jesse went to our hunting spot early. Jesse and Dad hunted a couple of days in search of a big antlered bounder, but to no avail. They did see lots of deer the first couple days, but nothing worth taking in the first couple days of the hunt. Josh and I headed east Tuesday morning and met up with Dad and Jesse in Dubois early in the afternoon. The small caravan, Jesse (Duramax pulling camp trailer), Dad (Toyota pulling trailer/4 wheeler), JD (Melvin S-10 with 4 wheeler), beat a trail through the snow and mud towards Paul reservoir. Although we saw a couple of moose that night before Dad's hunt opened, we decided if we didn't get one in the morning that we would head back to the other side of the mountain where there was less snow. No moose and too much snow that first morning of the hunt, so we packed up and headed back south. Dad was anxious to get hunting so we didn't really set up camp. We unloaded the wheelers and headed up the mountain. After taking a couple of side trails I really expected to see nothing late in the morning. Following dad down a half melted snow trail we kept our eyes peeled. Then I saw it. Dad drove on by and had this cow moose not flicked her ear we may have all continued down the trail. I whistled at dad. 150 yards down off the trail, lying in the dark rocks where it blended very well with its surroundings was a big cow moose. In my heart I then knew the hunt was over. Jesse and I circled down and around the patch of aspens to spook the moose into a standing position. We were only about 60 yards away when she stood to stare at us. A couple of seconds passed and we heard the lightning crack of dad's rifle and the moose hunt was ended. The work then began. We fully credit Josh with the dressing out of the moose. We loaded the moose in halves on the 4 wheelers and headed to camp. Congratulations Dad on a great shot and memory filled hunt.
