Gone Shooting

Dad and I went to sight in his muzzle loader and my 300 ultra for hunting Saturday. We had a great time talking and shooting. After several adjustments we got the .54 cal dialed in and Pa is ready for Moose. I got my rifle really close after 7 rounds with the new scope, then the fun began. All groups were fired at 100 yards. I started shooting my hand loaded shells and was very much impressed with the results. First test load was about 1 3/4 inch three shot group. The second load grouped tighter with two of the rounds touching for just over a 1 inch three shot group. The photo speaks for itself for the 3rd test group. I measured the three shot group at .546 inches. Yes!!! I love it.
A quick update on the fam. Braden is crawling everywhere and eating everything. I am positive he has a hollow leg. Maddie loves to play with her brother and often wakes him from his naps just to play. Thanks alot Maddie. I worked in Mcall Thursday and Friday getting home at 10pm on Friday night. Amy is working her fanny off in her new calling as Primary Secretary... she's a perfect fit for the position. All is well.
Get the Ball

Yesterday we took Maddie to Walmart for a walk. She walked from the parking lot into the store and made it all the way around back to the car. We took a couple of rest periods along the way. As a Dad it pulled on my heartstrings to see my little girl working so hard (she even started crying - so tired!!) At one point Madison didn't want to walk anymore. She sat down and just cried, until we found a big ball. That put a smile on her face and we used it as bait, out in front of her just enough that she would continue walking. This moment filled my eyes with tears as I saw the bigger picture. I couldn't do it for her. As bad as I wanted to I couldn't pick her up and carry her. Allowing her to struggle will only make her stronger. In life we each have a ball in front of us. It may be something we need or desire. If we can maintain focus on that goal we will attain it. Maddie got the ball. At the same time she made herself much stronger. You could see it on her face, the struggle was worth it. May you all stay focused on the ball and not the struggle. You can do it. We will conquer the sometimes difficult walk and we will be together forever. With love, Maddie and Daddy
Maddie's First Steps
Madison's Physical Therapist brought her a walker to help get Maddie start walking. Madison took great strides this week. She walked all the way to the mail box and back with out sitting down. Check out my little girl go!!!
Maddie wasn't sure about going out the door by her self but she did it!!!
Here I go down the side walk...
Maddie was so excited about walking she even went for a stroll in the grass...
Seeing my little girl walk brings tears to my eyes. I'm such a proud Mommy today. Im so lucky to have the kids and family that I have. We are so blessed...
